Synopsis
Photographer’s model Drew Angel is no pushover. He’s been hurt more times than he can count by men that see him as nothing more than the pretty face on the other side of their lens.
So when his drunken cab driver runs into the back of a beaten-up old Porsche on the way to the station, he tries to ignore the attractive other driver’s attentions. He knows men like Simeon King, and he knows better than to succumb to their superficial charms. Even when he learns the truth, that Simeon’s father recently passed away and the car was his only real legacy, Drew keeps an arm’s length between them.
But Drew Angel has a Christmas tradition: he and his sister give out gifts at the children’s home where they grew up before they found their forever family.
He has to get home for the big day. And when the trains are all cancelled because of the weather, how can he possibly turn down the offer of a ride?

My Review
I wanted to read this title because I was looking for a reading not too long to pass the time during my two days of digestive problem which forced me to stay in bed. Wonderful way to end 2020 and start 2021...
I prefer slow burns in romances but here, the characters are well constructed because we discover their pasts so it bothered me less. The evolution of the characters' personalities and their relationship is also interesting to follow.
The story is made of chance, encounters and decisions that change the future of Simeon and Drew. A pretty hot little story because it includes a few detailed sex scenes.
Overall, the text is easy to understand. I just dealt with a few words that I didn't know. This is probably because the author is British and I'm more used to read American English.

Synopsis
Successful CEO Kennedy Grey thought he had his life planned out nicely until he hires supposedly straight Kieran West as this year's vacation companion.
For the past five years, CEO Kennedy Grey has advertised for a gay male holiday companion to join him on his annual vacation. Although Kennedy claims to be neutral in his choice, he has certain non-negotiable requirements. Applicants must be between 21 and 25, non-smoking, social drinkers, either versatile or passive, and be able to pull off the role of dutiful boyfriend in front of his clutch of gay friends. What does the candidate get out of the deal? An all-expenses-paid vacation and five grand in cash at the end of the vacation—more if the candidate exceeds his expectations—a safe enough addendum because for the past three years no none ever has.
Kieran West sits in a quiet corner of the coffee shop, trying to finish an assignment. At 29, he is single once again. By now he should have settled down. But when his girlfriend of three years gives him an ultimatum – ring or road – he chooses the road. Worst of all, he had no qualms about doing so. As for his finances? Saddled with a string of outstanding student loans, he is struggling to finish his masters while also supporting his brother through college. Losing his work at the estate agent could not have come at a worse time. And then he overhears the man at a nearby table recruiting for a job that pays a cool five grand. What does he have to lose?

The synopsis of this title was in my inbox. This is how I discovered it and wanted to read it.
I'm a fan of MM romance and well-constructed, no-rush stories. In this book, I have everything I ask for.
The characters are well constructed, we discover their pasts, how they arrived at this precise moment and not just two sentences. The relationship grows slowly. Awareness too. I enjoyed seeing this development.
We are entitled to the point of views of Kennedy and Kieran. It allows us to see the thought flow of both.
The author's pen is fluid and I had no difficulty in understanding (French girl remember).

Synopsis
A contract with a devil…?
Gabriel Morgan never imagines his eighteenth birthday will end with the doors of his home being kicked in by gun-wielding thugs intent on stealing away his little sister as payment for his estranged father’s gambling debts. Pushed into an impossible corner, Gabriel is on the brink of doing something unspeakable when billionaire business mogul Darrien Stathos steps into the fray and announces a contract that nullifies all other claims—for Gabriel. Only too willing to be the sacrificial martyr to save his family, the cost of surrendering himself to Darrien, however, may be more than Gabriel bargains for.
Demon, alien, vampire, or just a plain human monster rumored to be the international crime lord known as Kairos, Gabriel has heard all whispered about this handsome, yet intimidating, savior. Whispers he is starting to fear are true when he witnesses a few disturbing incidents involving Darrien that cannot be rationally explained. Add to that the constant harassment of a couple of FBI agents intent on unearthing damning evidence that will prove that the crime lord, Kairos, is Darrien’s true face, as well as an assassination attempt on Darrien, and Gabriel starts to think that maybe sharing Darrien’s bed is the least daunting thing he will have to face.
Who is Darrien really, and why is he so interested in an ordinary guy like Gabriel, a guy just struggling to help his family make ends meet like millions of others? Gabriel isn’t sure he wants to know the answer, but when has the universe ever given him anything other than the finger?

My Review
I wanted to read this title because I like things related to the paranormal and MM romances. Besides, when you see a title like "Lord of Time" it intrigues you even more and makes you think of "Doctor Who". Here, we are far from this universe.
I enjoyed this book for about forty percent. Afterwards, I felt like I was reading a paranormal-infused parallel universe class plus a few sex scenes posed there. It did not alleviate my growing boredom.
I still forced myself to finish the book to see if the tone would change, but no.
At the beginning, the characters interested me but the more I discovered them, the less I liked them except two or three. Darrien, I easily understood his reactions as Gabriel made me wondering over some of his decisions. Especially the one involving his friends.
I do not intend to continue this series. Scientific explanations are too long and boring. Romance almost non-existent. The ending didn't surprise me at all because I was expecting something like that.
I did not know the author who uses two pen names. I'm still going to try one of her other books under her other name to see if her style is more fluid and pleasant.

My Review
I had already noticed this book on Goodreads during a research on MM paranormal romance so when it appeared on the Hidden Gems Books ARC's list, I applied and was delighted to have been accepted.
We dive into a paranormal universe where metamorphs in the town are not of the same species. What I really liked is that there are fated mates who are not of the same species either. A wolf and a fox. This is totally new for me who only have read stories about wolf with a wolf.
The story is fun to follow. It starts with a run for life and continues with dose of events that arise after moments of quietude.
The characters are deep and enjoyable to follow. The evolution of the relationship between Liam and Russ does not happen too quickly because each one has a painful past. Their animal's side aren't of the same opinion.
What surprised me the most is that there are two very distinct entities in shapeshifters: the human side and the animal side, and they have mental conversations.
My reading was pleasant but longer than what I thought. I got the impression that there were more pages than indicated. After all it's not very important. I will read the next book when it come out and hope it'll be with Drew.
I discovered Morgan Brice's pen with this title. She already has other titles to her credit and I'm going to take the time to take a closer look.
