Synopsis
When you wish upon a falling star, er, UFO…

Young widow Kevanne Girardi catches sight of a meteorite streaking across the sky and wishes for a good handyman to help make her rundown lavender farm a big success. Instead, she gets a shapeshifting alien who apparently has never seen a leaky faucet before. But his loving and noble spirit make him just the man to fix her wounded heart. He hasn’t promised her forever, but a girl can hope, can’t she? Maybe she’ll make another wish…

When his ship tumbles out of the sky and lands on Earth, Chameleon never expects to fall for a human woman. Unfortunately, he can’t stay. He made a mistake that led to the devastation of an entire planet, and now the survivors are depending on him to get them to safety. He must repair his ship and leave before the Xeno Consortium finds him and Earth becomes endangered, too. But oh, he wishes he could stay with Kevanne forever…

Can a twist of fate make their wishes come true?

My Review
I have a little passion for romances involving aliens but I rarely find books that live up to my expectations. Mostly books in French. I am therefore delighted to be able to read in English and to discover the pen of new authors like Cara Bristol.
I saw this title on Booksprout and immediately wanted to read it. This is how I learned about the large "Intergalactic Dating Agency" collection which involves several authors.
The story begins in another arm of the universe where I have no desire to set foot and features several characters who will each have their story in their future books.
Chameleon made me think of the movie "Avatar" in certain aspects of his appearance but the resemblance ends there. Kevanne has a cheerful less life past but she made me laugh by some of her reactions.
The characters are interesting to discover and to follow. Even if we have an idea of the ending of the story, what happens between the beginning and the end is not predictable.
The last page arrives faster than I expected because I would have liked to know more. I hope that we will be entitled to some information in book two.
I plan to read the next book because "Wingman" has wings. Logic considering the name.
Rating : 9,1/10

I would like to thanks Cara Bristol and Booksprout for the ARC.
